Weekend Happenings

This weekend we’re cleansing. Both metaphorically (now that the rain has made its return) and literally- because the Valentine’s Day sweets crept into every nook and cranny of the Jupiter Hotel and then kept on creeping until they made it into every nook and cranny of our tummies. Needless to say we were definitely feeling the love- and hope you were too.

Happening this week:

  • Thursday, February 16th will kick off the launch of PQ Monthly, a print and online publication covering

    Oregon and SW Washington LGBT communities. The party starts at 5pm at the near and dear Jupiter Hotel (Hey- that’s us!). Take a peek at the first issue and then peek around town with a gay bar crawl. Peek-a-boo!

  • ORPHANS, an acclaimed play by Lyle Kessler is showing 7:30pm on Friday, February 17th through Sunday, February 26th at The Hostess. The play, a feature about love, attachment and our need for others, stars Bruce Chesse, Jonathan Godsey and Kyle Delamarter. Tickets are available for purchase here and include admission to a related art exhibit. And maybe the sun will come out tomorrow!
  • Get tied up. The National Tour of Gay and Lesbian Wedding Expos makes its PDX appearance Sunday, February 19th at the Red Lion Hotel & Portland Convention Center. The Rainbow Wedding Network will hosts the Same Love, Same Rights expo will feature gay-friendly businesses including venues, coordinators, cake decorators, entertainment, photographers, formal wear, florists, and travel planners & realtors. Save the date and RSVP to attend.
