Portland is an acclaimed hotspot for emerging artists and fosters a strong creative culture. With this wealth of imagination going on, it would be a dire shame to miss out on these stimulating pieces that make the NW so unique. Spend this weekend getting in touch with the arts that have made this city so trendy. That’s right folks, get ready to pARTy, with an extra emphasis on the art.

4/4: Where Do We Go From Here @ Cock Gallery, Thursday 7:00pm

First Thursday is in full swing- bring on the cocktails, art and schmoozing. Our recommendation for your first stop, Cock Gallery. The exhibit, organized by Queer Union at Pacific Northwest College of Art, showcases HIV/AIDS and asking viewers what’s to be done. Be ready to step out of your comfort zone for this powerful showing.

Portland’s top male talent strutting their stuff, now that’s some art to remember. $10 ticket, $15 for VIP seating.

If you haven’t attended a first friday yet, cancel all of your plans and head down to LoBu. Start your night at the Jupiter Hotel for their First Friday showing of artists Braeden Cox and Lori Swartz, then cruise on to one of these other close by and awe inspiring locations. Most events are free and include complimentary refreshments.

Feeling cultured? Enlightened? Yeah, we have that effect on people. If you’re still craving a little more book a room at the Jupiter Hotel and catch some of the best performing artists at the Doug Fir Lounge.
