Gobble, Gobble

It’s hard to believe that Thanksgiving is just a few days away. Still not sure of what you’re going to make for the family? Don’t freak out! Below is a list of a few restaurants in the Portland area that are more than happy to providing you with a superb Thanksgiving meal.

Portland Restaurants:
Andina
Blossoming Lotus
Country Cat
Huber’s
Jake’s at the Governor Hotel

In addition to stressing about the menu, holidays also bring a lot of really great events to the area. Below is a list of things you can do to celebrate with those you love.

11/23 – Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade, 9 – 10 AM
There will be local marching bands, 26 inflatable floats, and roughly 500 costumed characters making their way through the streets of Portland for your enjoyment. The parade will begin on the corner of NW Park and Davis. It will travel east on Davis to Broadway, south on Broadway to SW Alder, east on SW Alder (past Macy’s) to SW 4th, north on SW 4th to NW Flanders, and west on SW Flanders to NW Park Avenue. Get there early to secure yourself a good seat.

11/23 – Lighting of the Christmas Tree @ Pioneer Square, 5:30 PM
The lighting of the Christmas tree symbolizes to us Portlanders that the holidays are finally among us and it’s socially acceptable to play Christmas music. If you plan on making it out for the lighting, get there early because it is generally crowded by 4 PM. There will also be a holiday sing-a-long featuring Thomas Lauderdale with members of Pink Martini.

Crazy relatives visiting and don’t want to put up with them? Get a room at the Jupiter and we’ll gladly take care of them.

Regardless of what you end up doing, we hope you have a fabulous Thanksgiving filled with family, friends, and way too much food because this is the only weekend gluttony is strongly encouraged.
