This week we’re standing at attention to salute the members of the United States Military in honor of Veteran’s Day. Thanks from the Jupiter for all of your service and sacrifice. You all know how much we enjoy our free speech!

Happening this week:

  • The Second Annual Humanist Film Festival kicks off tomorrow night at Cinema 21and will continue thought-provoking screenings through the weekend. The fest begins with The Nature of Existence at 5pm. Tickets start at $5 and are free for military members with valid ID. Get a weekend pass and occupy the PNW Humanist Movement.

  • The Portland Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence are hosting You Spin Me Round! at Hall of Records this Saturday, November 12th. The 80’s dance party and DJ competition will be held from 8pm to 12am with a $2 suggested donation to benefit the Sister’s Grant Fund. They’ll spin you right round, baby, right round.
  • Come together…riiight now…The PDX Q Center presents Communi-T, the opening event leading up to Trans Day of Rememberence. The resource fair, if you will, will include interactive workshops to address health, legal and social needs. Doors open at 2:30pm on Sunday November 13th.
  • Pucker up! Seattle singer-songwriter Matt Alber is performing at the Mississippi Studios from 8 to 10pm on Wednesday November 16th  The show is his CD Release Make-Out show with special guests Shannon Grady and Steve Taylor. Get’cha tix in advance.
